Tiger insists talks with PIF chief are good for golf as game bids to heal wounds caused by LIV breakaway

TIGER WOODS believes peace talks with PIF boss Yasir Al-Rumayyan are "positive" for golf's future.

Saudi-backed LIV Golf sparked a civil war in 2022 by signing stars such as Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson.

But a shock "framework agreement" was announced last year to try to bring the warring sides together.

That saw Woods join other members of the PGA Tour Policy Board-Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati and Webb Simpson in meeting Newcastle United chairman Al-Rumayyan in the Bahamas.

Speaking about that for the first time after his final round at the Masters yesterday, the American superstar said: "I don't know if we're closer [to a deal] but certainly we're headed in the right direction.

"That was a very positive meeting and I think both sides came away from it feeling positive."
