CALLUM MCGREGOR was thrilled to return in a Celtic performance he rated as good as any he's been involved in at Ibrox.
But he was left frustrated that an outstanding display did not put his side out of sight before being hauled back by Rangers.
McGregor recovered from his Achilles injury to take a place on the bench before appearing as a second-half sub. As he watched from the touchline, the skipper was hugely impressed by the display as Celts raced into a two-goal half-time lead.
McGregor was on the pitch as they were pegged back from 2-0 and 3-2 up - with his misplaced pass and deflection contributing to the home side's first leveller through Abdallah Sima.
He said: "The team performance was as good as I've seen here. In terms of performance, staying calm and showing composure, the football we played was outstanding. The only criticism is that we maybe don't get the third goal to give us more comfort in the game.
"Second half we showed good personality to get through the sticky spells as well. We played with big energy and big ability and the only criticism we have is that we didn't go three or four up at half-time because we were so good in the game.
