THE runners and riders are queuing up to replace Gareth Southgate as England boss.
Bookies are offering odds on various candidates, one of which appears to be a certain Pep Guardiola.
It's safe to assume the Football Association would think all their Christmases had come at once if Guardiola ended up managing the Three Lions.
Do me a favour. It won't happen. That's because Guardiola (below) doesn't want to manage England.
And what people seem to be overlooking is the fact that what's not safe to assume is the notion Southgate will step down following next summer's Euros.
What the heck would he do that for?
Southgate will be out of contract once the Euros are finished and to some it might feel like the natural and logical time for him to step aside.
