JOE ROOT reckons England have still got the tools to mix it with the biggest scoring boys at this World Cup despite losing their sixiest hitters.

And they have got the perfect chance to show it today against an Afghanistan side who have been taken apart by both India and Bangladesh.

On this ground in Delhi the hosts scored at 7.8 runs per over in their eight-wicket demolition job.

And when the big-hitting South Africans opened their shoulders at the same venue they went at an incredible 8.6 runs per over in racking up the highest World Cup score of all time.
