BOZO Johnson claims he had to carry out a lavish refurbishment in the Downing Street flat because it resembled a “crack den”.
The ex-PM defended the massive bill, which reportedly cost £200,000, as he brazenly laid into Sir Keir Starmer’s fondness for freebies.
He said he needed to pull the carpets out of the apartment, which his predecessor Theresa May lived in before him.
The former Conservative MP said: “The whole thing looked a bit like a crack den to be totally honest with you, and it needed to be refurbished.”
