BUTT KICKED

IF Jos Buttler thought the Caribbean would be a good place to shake off England's World Cup hangover he suffered a new headache last night.

His new-look England reboot may have a raft of fresh faces but after posting a target of 325, then seeing it chased down with seven balls to spare, they finished as red as in India.

If defeat at the hands of a team not good enough to qualify for the World Cup was bad, the manner of its confirmation laid down seemed designed to lay down a marker, West Indies' skipper finishing England off with three huge sixes in four balls to end unbeaten on 109.

Buttler had talked of not letting the World Cup debacle define him as a captain or his team who he insisted remain just tweaks away from recapturing their best.
