City will have no comeback from Prem's ruling this time says ex-UEFA chief

UEFA’S former chief investigator reckons the Premier League has a much stronger case against Manchester City than  European football’s governing body did three years ago.

City were left stunned after being charged by the League over 115 cases of financial rulebreaking and they know they will not have the option of being able to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport as they did after losing their UEFA case over Financial Fair Play regulation breaches in 2020.

Yves Leterme (inset), who led the UEFA investigation then, says the Premier League have a better chance of making their charges stick.

Leterme said: “That [lack of option] would make this case stronger.
