ANDY MURRAY wanted an early starting time at Wimbledon so he could get back to see the kids before bedtime.

But even he wouldn't have expected to be home in time to give them tea and even throw in a bath perhaps, before tucking all four of them under the covers.

Yet the two-time champion got all he wished for and more following a rapid and perfect start to his latest campaign at SW19.

The All England Club agreed to Murray's request for once and spared him from the dreaded late shift - and he took full advantage.

Murray took just a minute over two hours to see off fellow Brit Ryan Peniston (inset) in straight sets on Centre Court.

A decade has passed since Murray claimed the first of his Wimbledon singles titles back in 2013.
