CARLOS ALCARAZ devoured Novak Djokovic to retain his Wimbledon title - then claimed he is not yet at the top table of "champions" because he has only won four Grand Slam titles.

Alcaraz, 21, outplayed the greatest male player of all time 6-2 6-2 7-6 in only two hours and 27 minutes.

And the sevenchampion time had to save three Championship points to force a tiebreak and delay defeat.

Just over a month after knee surgery, Djokovic suffered his second worst defeat in 37 Grand Slam finals.

Last year it had taken the Spaniard five sets to seal victory in a classic encounter.
