1 Sheep can remember the faces of around 50 other sheep as well as recognise humans for around two years - they prefer seeing smiles over frowns.

2 They were one of the first animals used for agriculture, but discovered long before as they were referenced in the Old Testament.

3 Thanks to their rectangular pupils and 360-degree vision, sheep are excellent at detecting motion without turning their heads which helps them run away from danger.

4 A newborn can walk minutes after birth, with ewes delivering two babies at a time.

5 Spending all their days in nature helps sheep learn which plants will cure them when they feel unwell. They actively seek those out to eat if they feel under the weather.
