Putin has no exit strategy, says Biden as hypersonic missiles strike Odesa

ONE person was killed and five others injured in a Russian hypersonic missile attack on the Black Sea port of Odesa, Ukraine said today.

Seven missiles, including three which defence experts said were Kinzhal or “Dagger" hypersonic weapons, hit buildings including a warehouse and a shopping centre after being fired into the strategically vital city by warplanes.

The attack left flaming wreckage and acrid smoke filling the air as firefighters tried to stop blazes spreading.

The strike, which occurred late last night while residents were under curfew, came as US president Joe Biden said he believed that Vladimir Putin has no exit strategy for ending the conflict.

Mr Biden said the Russian president was “a very calculating man" but that his apparent lack of a plan was making it difficult for the US.

“I'm trying to figure out what we do about that," Mr Biden told reporters.
