An officer of the Palarivattom police, which registered an FIR and is investigating the case, said Krishna Kumar, the manager of Oscar Events that organised the dance event, was arrested. However, he was later released on bail. Another man, who was also part of the organising team, has been taken into custody and is being questioned, the officer added.
Police confirmed that there was negligence on part of the organisers of "Mridanganadam", a mega dance event aimed at securing the Guinness World Record for 12,000 Bharatanatyam dancers performing simultaneously, in ensuring the placement of safety barricades around the VIP gallery at the JLN Stadium in Kochi on Sunday.
