DEHRADUN: According to the official data, 45 Facebook accounts involved in such frauds were also shut in 2023 and 2024.

In 2023, 64 fake websites offering chopper service to Char Dhams were blocked.

With chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami taking cognizance, the state police began action against such websites in 2023 after receiving scores of complaints from pilgrims. According to police, the major reason for such cybercrime is that victims had no information about the authentic website for helicopter service booking.
