T'gana Govt to Launch Farmer Financial Aid Scheme on January 14

The much-awaited financial assistance to farmers under Rythu Bharosa, one of the six guarantees promised by the Congress before the last assembly elections in Telangana, will be rolled out from Sankranti festival on January 14, people familiar with the matter said.

Under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, which is a revamped Rythu Bandhu scheme introduced by the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government in 2018, each farmer will be extended financial assistance of ₹15,000 per acre annually. Under Rythu Bandhu scheme, the farmers used to get ₹10,000 per acre per annum in two seasons - Kharif and Yasangi (Rabi).

The cabinet sub-committee headed by deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and comprising agriculture minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and revenue minister Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, discussed the modalities of the Rythu Bharosa scheme at its meeting on Thursday.
