Mir also hit out at the Centre for filing a false case against him for allegedly causing hurt to two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs in Parliament.
Addressing party workers at the 'Aabhar Samagam' to thank them for their efforts in the Jharkhand assembly elections, Mir urged party members to pledge to continue the "fight to protect the Constitution" initiated by Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
"They made false allegations against Rahul ji, who would not hurt even a devil. He would not hurt even an insect if it came before him. A false case has been filed to silence the fight for the respect of Babasaheb. We have to continue this fight to its end," said Mir. While the senior Congress leader from Kashmir thanked the rebels who withdrew their nominations following the party's appeal, he also criticised a few "overconfident candidates" who lost due to their complacency.
