The Jharkhand High Court has dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's petition seeking quashing of criminal proceedings against him in a defamation case over his alleged derogatory remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah in 2018.
J'khand HC junks Rahul's plea in defamation case

While the petition was dismissed by a bench of justice Ambuj Nath on February 21, the order was uploaded on the high court website on Friday.

The defamation case was filed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Naveen Jha after Gandhi, while addressing the AICC plenary session in Delhi on March 18, 2018, said the people of the country will "accept a man accused of murder as the president of BJP but the people will never accept the same in the Congress party". Shah was the BJP chief in 2018.
