Hindustan Times|November 14, 2024
The Mahayuti is headed towards a strong showing in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections and the winning lawmakers will sit together and take a decision on the chief minister's position in a democratic process, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar said on Wednesday.
Faisal Malik

In an interview, Pawar, who heads the Nationalist Congress Party, rejected speculation of a hung House, said his uncle Sharad Pawar had set up a committee to explore joining hands with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party led government before the party split last year, and exuded confidence about his own victory from pocket borough Baramati.

"We are striving to get 175 plus seats as an alliance. After that, all the MLAs will sit together and take a decision following democratic process," he said.
