Political Correspondent in Washington US President Joe Biden has said he intends to visit Ireland after being invited to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.
Mr Biden said it was his intention to visit both the Republic and the North.
The news comes as Taoiseach Leo Varadkar travels to Washington DC today for three days of engagements, including a meeting with the US President on Friday.
Mt Biden was speaking at a joint press conference in California with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last night.
