Chaos in court

ENOCH Burke and five members of his family were forcibly removed from court yesterday as the anti-trans teacher lost his challenge against an order to stay away from his former school.

Gardai had to drag - and in one case carry them out of the Court of Appeal after they refused to stop shouting at the judges.

Mr Burke called officers "thugs" and shouted "Leave my father alone" as his family members were removed.

The bizarre scenes were the latest chapter in a long-running row that began with Mr Burke being suspended by Wilson's Hospital School in Multyfarnham, Co Meath, in a dispute over a pupil who was gender transitioning.

It led to a High Court injunction telling him not to trespass on the school grounds. Mr Burke appealed the ruling and yesterday he, his parents Sean and Martina, sister Ammi and brothers Isaac and Simeon, awaited the judges' verdict. Then it all kicked off.

Before the Court of Appeal President Mr Justice George Birmingham finished reading out his ruling, he was interrupted by shouting from members of the Burke family.
