WRECKAGE of the doomed Titan sub recovered near the Titanic is being probed by investigators.

Huge chunks of metal from the vehicle found on the ocean floor were unloaded in Newfoundland, Canada, yesterday.

The UK’s Marine Accident Investigation Branch has been brought in to help investigate the deaths of five people, including three Britons, believed to have been killed during a “catastrophic implosion” of the OceanGate submersible.

A Coast Guard source from St John’s in Newfoundland told the Mirror the debris will be carefully put back together. He said: “To gain the greatest understanding of the implosion, investigators will forensically piece together the Titan as best they can.

“Rebuilding it like a jigsaw provides them with the greatest amount of information about just how the submersible failed.”
