GARDA bosses have backtracked on plans to send an officer on a summer holiday patrol to Disneyland Paris – after the Irish Mirror highlighted the scheme.
The force had planned to send gardai to the massive resort as well as to Mont Saint Michel on the Normandy coast and to Giverny, 80km west of the French capital.
But we have learned the Disney element of the operation has been ditched.
The decision came after the Irish Mirror revealed the plan in May – and caused a political storm.
A source said: “They only sent out two in the end.
“They are there now and doing a great job. The plan for Disneyland was quietly ditched.
