JAMES MADDISON wants "super professional" Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham as he is adamant the England captain is the best No.9 in world football.

The Spurs playmaker is salivating at the prospect of joining forces with the 30-year-old under Ange Postecoglou this season but Bayern Munich want to wreck that plan.

The Bundesliga giants are refusing to give up in their attempts to strike a deal for top summer target Kane after their latest offer of £81.7million was rejected by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and director Marco Neppe flew into London for face-to-face negotiations with Levy on Monday, with Bayern now willing to table an improved proposal of £90m.
