Irish speechwriter keeping up with the Zeta-Joneses

AN Irish speechwriter has told how it was "bananas" to hear Jamie Lee Curtis and Catherine Zeta-Jones utter her lines as they presented BAFTA awards.

Grainne Maguire has fed words into the mouths of celebrities presenting the awards at the glitzy ceremony for the last four years.

On Sunday, she penned quips like Jamie Lee Curtis' comment on Colin Farrell's book club and the WhatsApp group for all Hollywood stars.

Grainne, who is also a comedian, said: "It was just incredible to be Irish and backstage on a night when there was so much goodwill for the film The Banshees of Inisherin.

"I was in a small booth backstage where there were autocues for the award presenters to practise before going on.
