It's a moment I'll remember for the rest of my life

LEINSTER final hero Cillian Buckley says he didn't stick around with Kilkenny to be a 'father figure' to the younger players.

The three-time All-Ireland winner turns 31 next month but won't settle for sitting on the bench and ushering in the next generation.

Super sub-Buckley blasted a dramatic stoppage-time winning goal to see off Galway in Sunday's Leinster final.

It was the sixth consecutive Championship game that he'd come on in the second-half of after missing half of the League with injuries.

But he made good use of his time on the pitch and wants to break into the team now and win a fourth All-Ireland.

Experienced Dicksboro defender Buckley said: "I want to be more than a father figure. To get involved in the action against Galway was great and I want more before the year is out.

"I didn't come back just to mind the lads, I came back to be part of the team and to win an All-Ireland.
