  • GAA legend to boycott top county games

GAELIC football legend Joe Brolly has stated he will boycott Derry’s senior games as he branded Mickey Harte’s appointment a “disgrace”.

Former All-Ireland winner Brolly also said it was the “last straw” for him.

The ex-Sunday Game pundit’s comments came after it emerged on Monday night that Harte was quitting as Louth boss.

The Wee County announced that Harte, 71, was leaving to take over the back-to-back Ulster champs Derry.

Derry GAA formally confirmed last night that he had been appointed on a three-year term.

Brolly initially took to social media and wrote: “What in the name of f***.”

And he followed that up by adding: “This is the worst thing to happen to Derry since the plantation.”
