Killer driver is adding insult to injury' on ban

THE mum of a toddler killed by a careless truck driver said she feels as if he is trying to push "the knife in even further" by applying again to have his licence reinstated early.

Amy Dutil-Wall's daughter Estlin, three, died following a horrific collision in Co Clare which was caused by Senan O'Flaherty on March 15, 2017.

He was initially given a €1,500 fine and a four-year driving ban in 2020 after pleading guilty to charges of careless driving causing death and careless driving causing serious bodily harm A Court of Appeal ruling the following year slapped him with a 16-month sentence which was fully suspended on the condition of good behaviour for two years.

Amy has revealed the family's Garda Liaison Officer has informed them O'Flaherty has made another application to Ennis Circuit Court to have his driving ban cut short.

He had made an application last year but it was thrown out of court.

Speaking to The Irish Mirror, the heartbroken mum said: "It just makes me feel like he doesn't value Estlin's life at all. That he doesn't care about how his actions have affected our lives.
