LATTAM became the first British-trained Paddy Power Irish Lincoln when getting up on the line to pip Saltonstall in Saturday's Curragh feature as the 2023 flat season got off to a flying start.

Chris Hayes, riding his third Lincoln winner and sparking a double completed on Queens Pardon in the finale winner of the extricated the lightly-raced, William Haggas trained four-year-old from behind a wall of horses at the furlong pole and produced a late surge to snatch the spoils.

"Mr Haggas told me to arrive as late as I could and I got away with it," quipped Hayes.
