POOR AIR QUALITY KILLING CHILDREN

AIR pollution is killing over 1,200 under 18s across European countries including Ireland every year, according to a new European Environment Agency report.

It has called on leaders to do more to protect children and adolescents from the impacts of fine air pollution particles like PM2.5s and PM10s as well as pollutants such as ozone and nitrogen dioxide.

Mark Murphy of the Irish Heart Foundation called the findings of the report "alarming".
