THE football world was united in grief last night after “legendary” England star Trevor Francis died aged 69.
Tributes poured in after the Nottingham Forest icon died yesterday from a heart attack at his home in Marbella, Spain.
The striker was Britain’s first £1million player in 1979 when he was bought by Forest, managed by Brian Clough, where he won back-to-back European Cups.
A statement released on behalf of his family said: “Trevor Francis has died at the age of 69.
“He had a heart attack at his apartment in Spain this morning.
