'UNDER THREAT' PIZZA DELIVERY MAN SHOT TEEN

A PIZZA delivery man has admitted blasting an innocent teenager to death on his doorstep - just days after gardai informed him he was under threat from gangsters.

Earl McKevitt, 51, pleaded guilty to the murder of 19-year-old Conor O'Brien in Enfield, Co Meath, on a date between August 26 and 27, 2021.

The Irish Mirror can confirm he had been given an official Garda warning his life was in danger.

Sources say investigators believe McKevitt armed himself with a pistol because of the risk to his life and then used the weapon to murder Mr O'Brien at his lodgings in rural Co Meath in late August 2021.

It's understood Dubliner McKevitt was delivering a takeaway to Mr O'Brien's home in Enfield when he pulled a gun and shot him dead.

Sources stressed that Wexfordborn Mr O'Brien - who was about to start his dream career as a blacksmith - was in no way involved in crime.

Instead, the sources said they believed McKevitt was spooked by the death threat against him that was seized by paranoia and wrongly believed Mr O'Brien was a threat to him as he answered the door for his takeaway.

"McKevitt was consumed with paranoia, a source said. "Mr O'Brien was just horrifically unlucky to cross his path."
