WAR CRIMES ARREST WARRANT FOR PUTIN

VLADIMIR Putin yesterday had an arrest warrant slapped on him for war crimes he has alleged to have committed during the Ukraine war.

The Russian president is accused, among other acts, of abducting thousands of Ukrainian children and forcing them to take Russian citizenship.

The International Criminal Court said Putin, 70, "is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation dren] and that of of [chilunlawful transfer of [children] from occupied areas of Ukraine".

His commissioner for children's rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, 38, has also had an arrest warrant imposed on her.
