Long lost snaps of U2's first gig in London found in a drawer

HERE'S a young U2 as you've never seen them before in long-lost photos of one of their earliest gigs.

The previously unseen pictures show the band, then still teenagers, playing to an audience of just 12 at a concert in the Rock Garden in London in 1979.

Photographer Justin Thomas took the black and white snaps of the band on stage before they became world famous.

The negatives had gone missing but were recently found in a drawer.
