To devotees of the humble burger and chips, there’s always been a sense of the emperor’s new clothes about the world of haute cuisine, where eye-wateringly pricey dishes are served in tiny portions to delighted patrons.
In this pitch-black dark comedy, Ralph Fiennes plays one such emperor of fine dining. And he’s just realised the joke was always on him.
