CAUGHT OFFSIDE

A FOOTBALL fan who sparked an airport security alert missed his flight to the Qatar World Cup and was ordered to pay over €1,000 to charity.

Cameron Bond was arrested in Terminal 2 at Dublin and missed his plane to Dubai after he clambered over security screening.

Judge Anthony Halpin yesterday ordered the 50-year-old to donate £1,000 and quipped: “He won’t need drinking money over in Qatar.”

The judge was referring to the World Cup host country’s alcohol ban in stadiums. Bond, 50, from Mettesford, Derbyshire, England, appeared at Dublin District Court.
