Icy weather causes travel chaos. Celebs stranded after flights axed

THE National Emergency Coordination Group will meet this morning as freezing weather threatens to wreak travel chaos for a third day. 

Government departments, local authority chiefs and forecasters at Met Eireann will consider implementing an action plan for the duration of the cold snap.

It comes as the country faces three separate weather warnings – with snow on the way for eastern counties.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange low temperature and ice warning for the entire country from 5pm on Sunday with temperatures dipping as low as -7C.

A Status Yellow freezing fog warning is in place until midday today, while until midday today, while an overnight Status Yellow an overnight Status Yellow snow warning for Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow also remains until noon.
