MCGRATH MAD AT BEN LET OFF

AUSSIE legend Glenn McGrath claimed third umpire Marias Erasmus handed England an Ashes lifeline as the fourth day of the second Test ended in controversy.
MCGRATH MAD AT BEN LET OFF

McGrath was seething when Erasmus ruled that Mitchell Starc was not in control of the ball when he claimed a steepling catch to dismiss opener Ben Duckett late on.

An angry Starc also confronted Duckett over a decision that gave the home side a glimmer of hope going into the final day at Lord’s.

McGrath had no doubts that England had got lucky – even suggesting something untoward had taken place.

He said: “If that’s England taking that catch, that is out! England have the best of the conditions and now they are getting the best of the rules.

“That is the biggest load of rubbish that I’ve ever seen.
