Ake: We need time to find our rhythm

NATHAN Ake has conceded City were far from their best in the opening match of the season and it will take time for the team to find their rhythm.

It was still the perfect start for the Blues, who started their third consecutive Premier League title defence with a 3-0 win at newly-promoted Burnley. It took all of four minutes for Erling Haaland to open his account for the new season, but the Clarets battled back and rattled the Blues at a boisterous Turf Moor.

Vincent Kompany’s side failed to take their chances, though, and when Haaland doubled the lead with a clinical finish the contest was effectively over. Rodri added a third in a second half which City dominated.

Despite the positive result, Ake believes City still have a lot of improvements to make. “I think the rhythm, the fitness comes week by week,” he said.
