Yesterday tribute was paid to Sue Abbot, a Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service chaplain, who has died aged 78. During her volunteering for the service Sue built close relationships with crews, especially in Withington, Moss Side and Wythenshawe.
She also made a big impact on the community, easily engaging people at station open days and other events, sharing her knowledge and experience to deliver prevention advice to reduce incidents and save lives. As GMFRS Chaplain and volunteer which she commenced in August 2017, she gave 3,000 hours of her own time.
