And this month it's celebrating its 10th anniversary.
City's £300million, state-ofthe-art, training complex next to the Etihad Stadium is renowned across the footballing world.
In the past decade, it has been the mothership from where the Blues and their all-conquering boss Pep Guardiola have overseen a domination of English football and their crowning as European and world champions.
There have been more than 40 senior men's players, including Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis, that have been produced by what has become a factory for top footballers. And it isn't just current and future footballing stars that have graced the City Football Academy.
It has been the subject of numerous royal visits, and even a state visit by the Chinese President. It marks a considerable change in fortunes for a site in a corner of east Manchester that was once part of the city's industrial heartland, but had become derelict and unused.
