Making a noise for our wildlife!
Manchester Evening News|June 28, 2024
THIS morning, I was awakened by our local blackbird singing his head off from the top of the telegraph pole in the road behind.
ALAN WRIGHT
Making a noise for our wildlife!

The blackbird is nature in all its glory, singing so loudly because he can tell it's going to be a beautiful day.

I can't think of a better alarm clock. This is my favourite music in the world, the melodic tootlings of this common garden bird.

I think we need to make more noise to make sure birds like the blackbird, thrush and robin are still around to wake up every generation to come. Some of our wildlife is threatened with extinction if we don't create areas where they can thrive.

Our 30by30 campaign is to set aside 30 per cent of the UK's land for wildlife by 2030, which is the target to reverse the biodiversity crisis already accounting for a third of the species across the planet.
