Lance Corporal Jamie Webb who overcame two brain operations to return to active duty - was killed during his second tour of Afghanistan in March, 2013, aged just 24.
He died as a result of wounds sustained during an insurgent attack on his patrol base in a district of Afghanistan's Helmand province.
Wythenshawe-born Jamie's proud family have released neverbefore-seen family album photographs of him ahead of the unveiling in Handforth, Cheshire, where he lived, on March 26.
The memorial - which will tell Jamie's unique story - will stand next to Handforth's war memorial off Wilmslow Road on Grangeway
Handforth. Jamie's brother Luke Webb, 28, said: "Jamie demonstrated exceptional bravery throughout his life. He overcame two brain operations and returned to active duty with the Mercian Regiment following an attack whilst on leave after a tour in Iraq. He then deployed twice to Afghanistan, working as a point man, an intelligence analyst and section second command.
