W Hotels will operate 162 rooms at the city centre scheme within its 41-storey tower.
The hotel is expected to open within the first three months of 2027, with an exact launch date still to be announced, and promises to bring a 'bold' design, 'distinctive' dining and always-on programming' to the city as well as signature spaces including the W-branded Living Room, WET deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa and FIT fitness centre.
W Hotels is part of the Marriott International group which has a major commercial deal with United - Gary's old Premier League club. It has also been announced that 217 apartments within the St Michael's scheme will be operated by W Residences, which also forms part of the Marriott group. The flats are set to go on sale in November, with the first buyers expected to move in during 2027.
