Rebecca Gregory admitted the neglect of four children, which occurred on April 26, 2022. Her 'abusive' treatment of the tots only came to light when police reviewed CCTV footage from the care centre following the death of another baby girl.
A court heard how the 25-year-old, from Stockport, began working at Tiny Toes nursery, in Cheadle Hulme, around seven years ago. It is the same nursery where nine-month-old Genevieve Meehan died in May 2022.
Kate Roughley was jailed for 14 years in May this year after being convicted of her manslaughter by ill-treatment.
At Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court yesterday, Gregory wept in the dock clutching onto a tissue as the details of her offences against four youngsters were laid bare. They were not linked to Genevieve's death.
Prosecuting, Tom Challinor said CCTV footage showed the 'rough and aggressive' handling of four children who were put in 'dangerous positions' when being put down to sleep. The victims cannot be identified due to legal reasons.
Mr Challinor said in respect of the first victim, a girl, that Gregory 'swaddled' her in a blanket before placing her face down on a mat, with another blanket used to cover her head. He said she would have been aware of the 'inherent dangers' of doing so due to her training.
