THE owner of a dog sanctuary has said that she will need a 'Christmas miracle' to stop the rescue centre from closing - and the animals it supports being put down.
Ali Clark runs the Charkirk Dog Sanctuary in Stockport, which currently has around 30 dogs in its care.
However, the centre is facing closure after being served notice to leave its current premises.
Ali, 59, said she is 'desperate' to raise £10,000 to cover the cost of kennel equipment and new premises.
The sanctuary takes in dogs that have severe behavioural problems. Of the roughly 30 dogs in the care of the sanctuary, 17 have been classed as 'unrehomeable' meaning that they are very vulnerable.
Some of the dogs living in the centre have come from backgrounds including neglect and abuse. Ali says that being made to put them to sleep would 'break her heart'.
