SCHOOLCHILDREN appear to have been called 'kn**head, 'b***end' and 'silly b***h' in a recording of a staff conversation picked up by a student's confiscated phone.
A letter signed by Alex Burnham headteacher at Newhouse Academy, Heywood has been circulated to parents following the incident.
He said a pupil's phone captured a private conversation between a small numbers of staff members after it was confiscated. It is thought an audio recording app was running when the device was taken from the student and continued recording.
The M.E.N. has been sent an audio clip, which a source said is a copy of the original. It is three hours and 37 minutes long.
In the clip, one person appears to say 'silly b***h' about a student. A person asks, seemingly about a pupil: "Is she a kn**head?"
"Can be, why?" a voice replies.
