Red Devils don't fear high-flying Leopards

AS we near the business end of the Super League season, Salford are perhaps right about where they'd expect to be - in a play-off position and hoping to make a similar late charge to last season, when Paul Rowley's side came agonisingly close to another Grand Final date at Old Trafford.

Defeat to Leeds last weekend robbed the Red Devils of the chance to establish some distance between themselves and the chasing pack just outside the top six, but it's not something that has weighed on the minds of the playing group this week.

"It's a long season, you can't really dwell on for long games too because you've got to focus on the next one and the next one for us is a big one," said Salford assistant coach Krisnan Inu.

"They're the form team in Super League, Leigh and in my eyes they're one of the best teams in the comp at the moment."

Indeed, Adrian Lam's side have defied all expectations to be leading a charge towards Old Trafford of their own, sitting second on the ladder ahead of this round of fixtures Cup Challenge against St Helens coming up next weekend.
