A GREATER Manchester chippy has been named one of the best in the UK. The Bury fish and chip shop has been listed as one of the top 20 chip shops in the UK by the Guardian.

The much-loved chippy in Prestwich is the only chip shop in the North West to make the cut. It's joined on the list by seaside spots including Shakey Shakey in Ramsgate, Magpie Cafe in Whitby and Frankie's Fish and Chips in Shetland.

Chips @ No.8 has gone from strength to strength since opening in 2018, with queues often stretching out the door.

The Greater Manchester eatery on Clifton Road has become a go-to spot for fish and chip fans and chefs from across the city, frying its fish and chips in beef dripping on request.
