MANCHESTER Airport says it expects more than a million passengers to travel through its doors over the February half-term.
And Tenerife, Alicante and Lanzarote are said by the airport to be the top 'bucket and spade' destinations for holidaymakers and families seeking a spot of prespring sun.
Some schools in Greater Manchester broke up this week, while half-term falls next week for others. But the airport predicts that over the two-week period, an estimated 1.12 million passengers will travel through, either for getaways or business.
About 700,000 alone are expected at the Airport between February 9 and this coming Sunday, February 18.
Manchester Airport had its busiest January on record as 1.8m passengers passed through the Northern hub last month.
