Sources indicate that Kumar, a civil engineering graduate from NIT Jamshedpur, allegedly stole the examination paper from the National Testing Agency’s trunk in Bihar’s Hazaribagh.
With the two arrests, the total number of persons arrested in connection with cases pertaining to leakage, impersonation and other irregularities in the medical entrance exam has now reached 14.
The CBI had previously identified Hazaribagh as the origin of the NEET-UG paper leak. Their investigation revealed that the paper was leaked from Oasis School in Hazaribagh. Two sets of question papers sent to this centre had their seals broken, but the school staff did not report the discrepancy, implicating them in the scandal.
