In a significant political boost, the constituents of the INDIA bloc emerged victorious in 10 out of the 13 Assembly seats contested in the recent by-elections across seven states. The BJP secured two seats, while an Independent candidate clinched one seat as votes were tallied on Saturday.
The Congress party celebrated winning four seats—two in BJP-governed Uttarakhand and two in Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) swept all four contested seats in West Bengal. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) triumphed in the Jalandhar West seat in Punjab, and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) claimed victory in the Vikravandi constituency in Tamil Nadu.
The BJP managed to retain the Hamirpur seat in Himachal Pradesh, while Independent candidate Shankar Singh won the Rupauli seat in Bihar.
The by-election voting took place on July 10.
